Frequently Asked Questions

What is trichology and how does it differ from a standard salon visit?

Trichology is the clinical study of the hair thinning, hair loss, and scalp diseases. Unlike a traditional salon focusing solely on aesthetics, we analyze the biological foundation of your hair health. A bridge between cosmetology and dermatology, we identify underlying causes of scalp discomfort and hair thinning to restore your confidence from the root up.

Are your clinical treatments suitable for all hair types?

Absolutely. At BMC Studios, our scientific approach is universally applicable. We customize our clinical protocols to address the unique structural needs of every hair texture, ensuring that scalp health is nurtured without compromising the integrity of your natural curl or fiber.

Do I need a consultation before booking a major transformation?

Yes. Our artisanal transformations are highly personalized. A consultation allows us to perform a diagnostic scalp scan and discuss your aesthetic goals, ensuring we choose the safest and most effective chemical or aesthetic path for your unique profile.

How long will it take to grow my hair?

Depending on the severity of hair loss and with appropriate treatment, you can start seeing some hair growth anywhere from 3-6 months. On average, visible hair growth in 6-9 months. Results depend on treatments recommended and follow up.

What shampoos are good for hair growth?

Shampoos and topical products that contain DHT blocking ingredients (ex:saw palmetto) usually work best. Some shampoos that contain Ketoconazole and Zinc pyrithione have been know to help clear build up in the scalp that might be contributing to hair thinning.

Will I have to stay on these treatments forever?

Once we are seeing results, its important to know that maintenance is still required:once a month, every few months or once a year depending each case.

Can I just take vitamins and grow hair?

While a healthy diet is important for cellular growth in all systems of the body, supplements alone doesn’t grow hair. Our Holistic approach gives us an overall picture by looking at aspects your lifestyle, sleep habits, diet, genetics, stress level, hormonal issues, scalp issues, etc.

What is microchanneling?

By creating tiny “channels” in the skin via micro needles, the body uses its own natural healing response, in combination with an application of growth factors and stem cells, to “wake up” dormant hair cells.

What is LLLT?

Low level laser therapy is a non invasive approach to stimulating cellular activity. By creating blood flow and circulation, nutrients flow to hair follicles which has been found helpful for hair growth. When paired with other therapies such as microchanneling, application of growth factor, exosomes, and/or supplementation, increased hair retention and less hair shedding can occur.
